Vitamin C - popular antioxidant
When you think of free radicals and cell protection, vitamin C immediately comes to mind, and for good reason. It has always been known that ascorbic acid has antioxidant properties, which is why it is often used as an additive in foods to protect them from oxidation by oxygen and thus make them more preservable.
Vitamin C
has a similar effect in the organism, where it neutralises the so-called free
radicals that are naturally produced in the metabolism. In this quantity
they are not necessarily harmful - on the contrary. Free radicals are needed

Polyphenols such as proanthocyanidins are also thought to have antioxidant properties. In combination with vitamin C, however, they can do much more: they can increase the bioavailability of vitamin C and regenerate depleted vitamin C so that the antioxidant properties of vitamin C are available to the body for longer.
